Battle of the Generations: 70's versus 90's

Bill (child of the 60's / 70's) and and his daughter Katie (child of the 90's) / 00's) challenged eachother to a Spynergy grudge match featuring classic music of both eras.  With two bikes on the stage, and the songs cued up......the barbs were flying "....Dad, you have no recollection of those years anyway.....", and the workout was intense.   Indoor cycling and spin classes in Wellesley can be fun!  A few highlights:

Start Me Up (Rolling Stones)   VS    Jock Jams (Remix)

Good Vibrations (Beach Boys)  VS   Good Vibrations (Marky Mark)

Oye Como Va (Santana)  VS   I Like How it Feels  (Iglesias and Pitbull)

Could you be Loved (Marley)  VS  Wavin the Flan (K'naan)

Sgt Pepper (Beatles) VS  Fix You (Coldplay)

Listen to the Music (Doobie Bros) VS  Mr. Brightside (Killers)

To finish off the playlist, there was a Cross-Generational version of Gimme Shelter featuring Bono, Mick Jagger, Fergie and Will.I.Am (Black Eyed Peas).  Winner?  Everyone was a winner.  We decided that each generation has it's own mix of quality music and pop one-hits!   How about 60s VS 80s?   COLDPLAY:  Legitimate 90s music:

Treating your body right, and reaping the benefits

The list below comes drom Spynergy rider Dr. Barry Taylor.  He suggests that if you commit to just two or three of these and do them for a month as a way of giving your body a rest.  Your body will thank you for it.

  1. increase your total intake of vegetables to 5 cups per day
  2. drink fresh pressed vegetable juices to alkalize your body, or have a glass per day of a organic green drink like Best of Greens
  3. when you exercise wear a hooded sweat shirt to increase sweating
  4. eliminate all animal protein
  5. eliminate all coffee, alcohol, sugar, dairy, all processed and preserved food, and fried food ( pick one or more for each week)
  6. find a sauna or steam or hot tub to sweat
  7. Get a loofah or firm dry brush and brush you skin every day for 5 minutes
  8. Get a therapeutic body work session
  9. Do "detox tea" for 1-3 days
  10. commit to meditate or relax your mind for 5 minutes a day by some practice like listening to calming music or following your breath
  11. focus on drinking optimal water 1- 2 liters per day depending on your day
  12. practice eating with awareness when you are relaxed, i.e. no eating on the move, in cars, on the phone, or multi tasking
  13. every time you eat or drink say a blessing of gratitude

If you commit to 2 or 3 of the above choices every week for a month, and include an intention to explore your experience with an attitude of adventure, notice how your body responds!

Over the last 30 years, Dr. Taylor has guided over 10,000 patients through cleansing and detox programs and workshops. There is a lot of theory to  gain a deeper understanding of ways that detoxifying the body and removing physical interferences can encourage organs to work more efficiently, reducing symptoms and allowing the body to heal naturally.

If you would like to give your self a gift of Spring Cleaning and rest your body. Feel free to contact Barry for more information. He leads organized 21 day cleanses called 'Love your Body' programs. This spring's  program runs on 4 Wednesday evening May 15th through June 5th:  drbarrytaylor@aol.com   www.drbarrytaylor.com
